The Gathering Room
The largest indoor public space at TEXANA Trails & Lodge, measuring 20 ft x 40 ft, The Gathering Room captures scenic, pastoral hilltop views from within an expansive, vaulted, beamed and trussed open space. Featuring a formal entry with ramp, The Gathering Room is accessible throughout, with an accessible public bathroom on the ground floor, and convenient to another bathroom available nearby in the Historic Stone Stable for large events.
Sporting Spanish Colonial décor, the downstairs powder room is conveniently located near the front door for guest use, featuring a raised, accessible toilet with pedestal sink. This bath is the back-up plan for overnight guests who can’t wait for the 2nd floor bath to be vacated! Tomato Rojo glazes on the high textured plaster walls compliment an iron chandelier, wrought iron towel bars, and Mexican hand-crafted mirrors of painted tile and tooled tin. For larger events, designate this bath the men’s room and the more spacious bath in the The Governor’s Room for the ladies.
The Gathering Room accommodates mixed use, from lodging to events both large and formal, or intimately informal. Enjoy as a common living room available for lodging guests, or lease the room for your indoor event. The room is great for a banquet, dance, wedding, shower, rehearsal dinner, party, quilting or scrap book bee, seminar, quincenera, family holiday or reunion, or any occassion. Artwork and elegant, rustic, ecclectic furnishings can remain or be removed for your own furnishings, portions left for your use as comfy seating and dining areas, or other rental furnishings provided tailored to your event theme.
If musically inclined, enjoy tickling the ivories on the Baldwin baby grand piano, or ask Miss Dancy to play for you. A digital, 42 inch flat screen TV with DVD and surround sound system will enhance your event, meeting presentations, movie watching, spectator sports parties, and dances utilizing DJ or self-produced music mixes.
Adjacent commercial kitchen, La Gran Cocina, accommodates your caterer or ours, and is also available for do-it-yourself food preparation. Indoor seated dining space available for (60), plus additional outdoor dining for (40)—(60) on La Veranda, and for (100)—(150) on adjacent 3000 sf La Plaza, for a maximum total of 250 guests.
