La Plaza
To experience TEXANA Trails & Lodge is to move through indoor and outdoor spaces that are interwoven, beginning at the formal entry to The Grand Lodge, through The Gathering Room and across La Veranda covered porch, onto an open-air patio, lovingly referred to as “La Plaza”.
The name conjurs images of Mexican plazas where intimate relationships are known to have sparked. A shaded, geometric garden and public square in the center of town where people gather for social occasions, Mexican plazas usually contain a central fountain, trees, plantings, and seating areas, where historically, chaparones keep a watchful eye over circulating youngsters, vying for attention of that special someone.
La Plaza at TEXANA Trails & Lodge is being developed along traditional lines of a Spanish-Mexican plaza. The space is an open air patio for large Events Venues, bounded by La Veranda, a raised, wrap-around, covered porch attached to The Grand Lodge, and a west facing arbor suitable for outdoor marriage ceremonies, that frames sunset views the year round. This is the place where guests enjoy campfire gatherings, which functions as an outdoor room that borders The Greensward shaded Garden, the outdoor area joining together the Historic Stonehouse and Historic Stone Stable.
Accommodates 100-150 event guests
