La Veranda
Life in Texas has traditionally been lived on and around porches, and life at TEXANA Trails & Lodge is no exception. Shading, shielding and embracing the north end of the exterior of The Grand Lodge is the gable roofed, wrap-around covered porch of La Veranda that functions as an outdoor extension of The Gathering Room.
La Veranda utilizes over 1,000 sf of Redcedar railing to define the porch space, with a vernacular Greek Star repeating design. The porch doubles as outdoor dining room for Events Venues, grill kitchen, playroom, or at times simply a lazy place to nap or read a book. This sheltered outdoor setting affords guests abundant opportunity for enjoyment, and is the most popular of the various, outdoor settings around the site.
Directly accessible from The Gathering Room, and by way of exterior steps, and ramp, La Veranda can accommodate up to 60 guests at dining tables, more with chairs or standing room only. Steps below to La Plaza adjacent outdoor space, further extend event accommodations by transitioning guests from The Gathering Room to La Veranda to La Plaza. The raised porch functions well as an event stage for prominent positioning of musicians and entertainers in relation to La Plaza.
