The Historic Stone Stable is nestled atop the hill that defines the property, and is linked to outdoor spaces that knit together all three TEXANA Trails & Lodge facilities. Originally built as a horse stable adjacent to the Historic Stonehouse, the one story Stone Stable now functions as a two room cabin, offering lodging for (5) with a shared bath facility.

The building retains the original form of the historic Texas plantation structure, with window glazing added between what once were horsestall posts. From inside the Stone Stable, the westerly view of sunset over prairie landscape is framed by an expanse of glass at the adjacent stone patio, bringing the outdoors indoor and marrying the two together. Native sandstone walls provide rustic décor reminiscent of a vaquero foreman’s bunkhouse on a working ranch.

The Stone Stable is simply a great place to reconnect with The Great Outdoors, offering a rustic, native sandstone patio with chiminea and a lawn area with firepit. Ideally suited for those wanting a charming step up from a generic office or hotel room setting, this cozy cabin is a great alternative for a small meeting that doesn't feel so small with the glazed wall providing a clear curtain for view of the outlying expanse of countryside. With basic kitchen amenities, the Stone Stable is also suitable for self-sufficient, eat-in lodging, small group events, or retreats for as many as (5) or as few as (1).
