Once a two-story Georgian Revival style home, the Historic Stonehouse now contains 3,000 square feet of living space. Rooms include a central living and entertaining space known as The Great Hall, as well as four bedrooms, two full baths, kitchen, breakfast nook, butler’s pantry and laundry room.

Family antiques and a comfortable mix of  traditional furniture, local artifacts, cases of classical books, a piano, and wall murals of famous Early American tales and Roaring 20’s Gatsby era fashions enrich the guest experience with a taste of good life experienced by family generations past. Oriental rugs overlay concrete floors in spacious rooms with high ceilings reaching nearly eleven feet. Interior walls, 18—24 inches thick, are naturally molded and textured with white plaster over hand-laid, solid native stone.

Kitchen and guest rooms are accessed directly from The Great Hall, a classic, formal, central hallway that spans the full width of the Stonehouse, facilitating natural ventilation and recalling early Texas days of “dog trot” log cabin breezeways. Probably including a staircase to the second floor originally, The Great Hall today features a 12 foot mirrored antique bar, the focal point of the room that visually expands the space and functions as a unique buffet for guest events.
