Miss Emma’s Room

Named for the vivacious, courageous, pioneer woman who came to run her father's plantation through the challenging years of Anglo settlement in Texas, spacious Miss Emma’s Room can be used as a single bedroom or as a suite combined with the Colonel Dancy Room. Miss Emma’s Room is accessed from The Grand Hall, and shares a compartmentalized bathroom with the Colonel Dancy Room by way of a small private hall.

This room features a four-poster, canopied Queen-size bed for 1—2 guests in addition to a double twin trundle bed that can sleep another 1—2 guests. There is a study center in the room featuring a bookcase filled with Texas history, architecture and music books — ideal for the business traveler, genealogist or writer. Enjoy the early 19th century birdseye Maple “Bonnetier” — a wardrobe where you will find costumes, hats and the like for your amusement.

The bathroom facility, shared with the Colonel Dancy Room, is designed to allow two rooms of guests to enjoy maximum access and privacy. Bath facility is located off a short hallway that connects the two bedrooms through separate, locking doors. A lavatory and large accessible shower are available in the bath that features a life size mural of a 1920’s Cruise Fashion Model, painted in the ’20s by Aunt Olivia Brown Morrison. The poweder room features a toilet and a lavatory installed in an antique table. Both the bath and powder room are lockable and fully private.

Sleeps (4) guests
