The Country Kitchen

Kitchen facilities in the Historic Stonehouse are efficiently arranged to meet the needs of even the hungriest of guests. Decorated in classic blue and white of vintage Delft Willow tableware with bright sunflowers, this light filled room includes a full size refrigerator, range, two ovens, microwave, and dishwasher.

The adjacent Breakfast Nook is furnished with a 1920s, six foot, hand-crafted Redcedar table with trestle benches, that were made for the owner’s grandparents. These vintage furnishings have now been serving ranch hands, family, friends, and guests for four generations.

The Country Kitchen has proven able to meet the multi-functional needs of overnight lodgers, long term boarders, and event guests, for everything from dining and homework doing, to bill paying and board game playing. Cooking utensils, pots and pans, utility and serving bowls, and tableware are all available in the fully equipped facility that’s perfectly suited for personal meals prepared by guests or by TEXANA Trails & Lodge, or as a center from which to serve a pot luck or catered meal.

A Butler’s Pantry provides exterior access to the service area of the house. Immediately adjoining the Pantry are a wet bar and laundry area with washer and dryer, all of which are available for use by lodging guests and included in the Historic Stonehouse Venue event rental.
